Título: REGULATION OF EXTRACELLULAR MATRIX PROTEINS IN SALIVARY GLAND CARCINOMAS: NEW PROTEOMIC INSIGHTS

Nome do Apresentador: Tayná Figueiredo MACIEL

Categoria do Trabalho: Painel de pesquisa científica (PPC)

Área Temática: Patologia Oral

Resumo: Objective: To characterize the proteomic profiles of five salivary gland carcinoma subtypes-Salivary Duct Carcinoma (SDC), Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC), Epithelial-Myoepithelial Carcinoma (EMEC), Myoepithelial Carcinoma (MC), and salivary gland adenocarcinoma not otherwise specified (AdNOS). Study Design: Thirty macrodissected samples were divided into six groups, including a control group. Proteomic analysis was performed using mass spectrometry with label-free quantification of protein abundance. Data were processed with MaxQuant software, aligned to the UniProt Human Database, and functionally annotated using the Gene Ontology platform. Results: Preliminary findings indicate a shared pattern of differential extracellular matrix (ECM) protein regulation across all carcinoma subtypes. Upregulated proteins included TNC, AEBP1, SERPINH1, COL12A1, and P3H1, while DPP4, COL15A1, CD44, and RPSA were downregulated compared to controls (p < 0.05). Functional enrichment analysis further revealed significant involvement of collagen-containing ECM (p<0.001) and trimerization processes (p=0,04), with enrichment of pathways related to ECM organization (p=0.03). Conclusion: These findings suggest that ECM remodeling may contribute to salivary gland carcinoma progression, identifying key proteins that could help elucidate tumor progression and potentially aid in the design of therapeutic strategies.
