Título: Oral Heterotopic Gastrointestinal and Respiratory Cysts: Two Case Reports

Resumo: Case 1 involved a healthy 69-year-old woman with an asymptomatic 0.5 cm submucosal nodule on the anterior dorsal tongue, present for two months. A granular cell tumor was considered clinically. Case 2 was a one-month-old male infant with a 2 cm congenital nodule on the floor of the mouth, causing breastfeeding difficulties; a dermoid cyst was the primary hypothesis. Excisional biopsies revealed well-defined brownish fragments with cystic cavities, one containing whitish, creamy material. Histopathological examination revealed cysts lined by columnar to ciliated epithelial cells, which were immunopositive for CDX2, CK5, CK7, and CK19. Goblet cells were positive with PAS staining. Both cases were diagnosed as heterotopic gastrointestinal and respiratory cysts (HGRC). Conservative surgical excision was performed, and no recurrences were noted after one year. HGRC should be considered in the differential diagnosis of dome-shaped nodules in the anterior tongue and floor of the mouth.
