Título: EXPANDING ORAL DIAGNOSTIC SUPPORT IN BRAZIL THROUGH TELE-STOMATOLOGY: A NATIONWIDE PROFILE

Resumo: This study aimed to evaluate the performance of the Tele Estomato® teleconsultation platform for oral health in Brazil, through the characterization of professionals and patients, and analysis of diagnostic agreement between primary care dentists and remote specialists. This cross-sectional study used data collected between 2023 and mid-2025, including valid cases and excluding duplicates or incomplete records. Variables analyzed included demographic profiles, lesion characteristics, and response times. Diagnostic agreement was assessed by comparing initial hypotheses from primary care with consultant assessments. A total of 2,425 dentists and 1,763 cases from 14 Brazilian states were analyzed. Most professionals were female (68.98%) and worked in primary care (84.2%), mainly in non-capital municipalities (59.1%). Patients had a mean age of 46 years, were mostly female (53.71%), and identified as mixed race or white (87.3%). The tongue (22.9%) and lips (17.5%) were the most affected sites. Diagnostic agreement reached 62.6%, and the mean response time was 2.46 days. The platform proved effective in expanding access to specialist diagnosis, strengthening the connection between primary and specialized care, and supporting early identification of potentially malignant lesions.
