Resumo: Smartphone applications are tools that, when aligned with teaching perspectives, can achieve positive learning outcomes. Thus, a smartphone application was developed and validated with the aim of providing functionalities to assist undergraduate dentistry students in the Oral Diagnosis teaching. This is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach of a technological nature. The application consists of more than 50 lesions distributed in eleven groups. Each lesion has a theoretical framework with a description of the clinical, radiographic and histopathological characteristics, and the recommended treatment. Clinical and radiographic images, besides digital slides of the lesions are also available, enabling dynamic navigation on the slide and visualization in a manner similar to that seen in digital microscopy. The application was developed and made available for download on the PlayStore®. The validation of the application was performed by eight dentistry professors by a semi-structured questionnaire. The Content Validation Index (CVI) was used. The "Oral Pathology Guide" was validated with an overall CVI of 0.92. The positive evaluation of the application demonstrates that it can contribute to the performance academic of students, as it is a valid tool and well accepted by dentistry professors.
