Resumo: Objective: To describe the characteristics of tobacco users documented in the Brazilian Primary Health Care Information System (e-SUS AB) from a large coastal municipality in São Paulo State, and to assess the prevalence of dental consultations within the past 12 months, aiming to identify gaps in oral health service delivery.
Study Design: This cross-sectional descriptive study used secondary data from e-SUS AB, covering January to December 2024. Individuals with an active record of current tobacco use in the Individual Health Record were included. The main outcome was documented attendance at a dental consultation within the previous year. Descriptive statistics were applied, stratified by sex and age group.
Results: Among 14,333 current tobacco users, only 1,224 (8.54%) had a recorded dental consultation in 2024. Coverage was higher among women (11.43%) compared to men (5.34%). The lowest rate was observed among men aged 65 and older (4.82%), and the highest among women aged 25-34 (11.74%).
Conclusion: The study highlights low dental service utilization among tobacco users, particularly among men and older adults. These findings emphasize the need for better integration between health surveillance and oral health services in primary care settings.
