Título: Case Report of Polymethyl Methacrylate-Induced Foreign Body Granuloma in the Parotid Gland

Resumo: A female patient undergoing oncological treatment due to breast cancer presented a nodule in the left buccal mucosa for a month. Medical history also included hypertension, arthrosis, dyslipidemia, excision of benign nodules from the thyroid, and aesthetic face procedures. The clinical exam showed a painless, fixed, and firm nodule with 0.7cm of extension in the submucosa of the left buccal mucosa. The alteration was localized distally from the duct of the parotid gland and the functional test showed scarce saliva. The patient was submitted to facial fillers 10 years ago. The ultrasound image from the region presented a solid material in the inner portion of the parotid gland and adjacent structures. An incisional biopsy revealed connective tissue with a giant histiocyte reaction to amorphous particles. These findings indicated a diagnosis of foreign body granuloma, confirmed by the use of polymethyl methacrylate in the facial filler procedures aforementioned.
