Título: AN UNCOMMON PRESENTATION OF ACINIC CELL CARCINOMA IN 10-YEAR-OLD CHILD

Resumo: A 10-year-old female patient sought the otorhinolaryngology service due to the presence of a nodule in her neck for 2 years, which had appeared after an ear infection. The patient reported antibiotic and anti-inflammatory treatment for 14 days without improvement. The patient had no significant medical history or ongoing medication use. Physical examination revealed a painless, hardened, nodule at the right cervical level II, with no signs of inflammation, adherent to the deep planes. Computed tomography revealed the presence of an expansive, moderately heterogeneous formation with imprecise limits, occupying the superficial and deep lobes of the right parotid gland. A clinical hypothesis of pleomorphic adenoma (PA) was suspected, and a fine needle aspiration was compliant with PA. Parotidectomy was performed, and the histopathological analysis showed tumor cells with acinar pattern, granular cytoplasm and hyperchromatic nuclei, supporting the diagnosis of acinic cell carcinoma. The patient was referred for further treatment.
