Título: ORAL NODULAR FASCIITIS MIMICKING MALIGNANCY: A CASE REPORT

Resumo: Nodular fasciitis is a benign condition that is rare in the oral cavity and can mimic malignancies. A thirty-year-old male patient consulted with a complaint of a painless swelling in the oral cavity, which had been developing for two months. No comorbidities or medication use were reported, but sporadic alcohol intake and smoking (three cigarettes/day for five years) were noted. On clinical examination, a submucous nodule was observed in the upper lip, left side, measuring 2.5 cm by 1.8 cm, firm to palpation and with ill-defined margins. Ultrasonography revealed an irregular, heterogeneous, hypoechogenic nodule in the orbicularis oris muscle and extending to the subcutaneous and mucosal surfaces. Aspiration puncture was negative for liquids, preoperative exams were normal, and the lesion was subjected to an incisional biopsy. Histopathological examination showed a benign lesion consisting of spindle cell proliferation. Immunohistochemistry confirmed the diagnosis of nodular fasciitis. The patient is under clinical follow-up.
