Resumo: A 13-year-old female patient with trisomy 21 associated with neurofibromatosis presented with a chief complaint, as reported by her mother, of a rapidly growing mass on her tongue. Her medical history revealed that she had undergone blepharoplasty and partial glossectomy approximately one month prior to consultation. Fifteen days post-surgery, a lesion developed at the surgical site on the dorsal tongue, characterized by rapid enlargement and occasional bleeding.Clinical examination identified a pedunculated lesion approximately 3 cm in diameter, with a reddish hue, an irregular surface, and a tendency to bleed upon manipulation. An excisional biopsy was performed using a surgical diode laser. Histopathological examination confirmed the lesion as a pyogenic granuloma. A follow-up evaluation at three months revealed complete healing of the site with no evidence of recurrence, highlighting the effectiveness of laser surgery in managing oral pyogenic granulomas, particularly in patients with complex medical histories.
