Título: ADENOID CYSTIC CARCINOMA ON THE FLOOR OF THE MOUTH

Resumo: We report a case of a 59 years old female patient admitted in outpatient care with an intraoral swelling in the floor of the mouth lateral to the midline, painless, one year evolution time, the patient had a history of multiple relatives who died of cancer. Preoperative exams included coagulation tests, fasting blood glucose and blood count. Patient underwent an incisional biopsy surgery, which presented as a solid normochromic nodule. Microscopic sections revealed mixed salivary gland disorganized by sheets of polyhedral hyperchromatic myoepithelial cells, microcystic structures with hyaline eosinophilic content, with double layer of cells arranged in perivascular, periductal regions, also had a capsule invaded by islets and cords of neoplastic cells with a cylindromatous appearance, confirming diagnosis of adenoid cystic carcinoma. Immunohistochemistry essays comprised CK7, CD117, SMA, C-MYC and P-53. Patient was referred for oncological treatment at a specialized hospital in the region and is currently undergoing post-diagnosis monitoring
