Título: AMELOBLASTIC CARCINOMA: FROM DIAGNOSIS TO REHABILITATION.

Resumo: We report the case of an 18-year-old male patient seen at a referral hospital for
surgery and traumatology, who arrived complaining of swelling in the face for the
past a year and a half. A CT scan showed a hypodense
image with well-circumscribed borders in the mandible. Incisional biopsy in the
retromolar region was diagnosed as an solid ameloblastoma. Excisional
biopsy was planned with resection of the left segment of the mandible with
placement of titanium plate. The histopathologic evaluation noticed the presence of
spindle cells, sometimes assuming a storiform arrangement, with a high number of atypical
mitoses in addition to neoplastic giant cells, with infiltration in perivascular and perineural areas, suggesting it to
be an ameloblastic carcinoma. Further Immunohistochemical essay revealed CK19+, SMA+ in a mosaic pattern, P53+ and Ki-67 between
20%-30% of the cells, concluding the diagnosis of Ameloblastic Carcinoma. The patient is still under follow-up after 6 months with no signs of recurrence.
