Resumo: Inflammatory odontogenic cysts are lesions lined by epithelium, containing liquid or semi-solid content, whose diagnosis depends on imaging exams. This paper reports the case of a child with an inflammatory odontogenic cyst in the posterior region of the left mandible, with swelling present for about two months. Clinically, there was loss of the vestibular sulcus in the region of the lower molars. Radiographically, an osteolytic, radiolucent lesion was observed, along with coronal destruction and root resorption of the first molars. An aspiration puncture, incisional biopsy, and decompression with a device maintained for 21 days were performed. The histopathological report confirmed the diagnosis of an inflammatory cyst. The patient is under follow-up, presenting bone neoformation in imaging exams, showing good results with the conservative approach.
