Resumo: A white female patient, 48 years old, was referred due to large non healing ulcerations on the lower lip and at the apex of the tongue. During the past month she and her husband experienced cold symptoms with pharyngitis, first treating with nimesulide, and after the oral lesions started, in the past 14 days, triamcinolone acetonide association cream and fluirbiprofen tablets without improvement. A 4mm punch biopsy was performed. Additionally, a fast cytopathological smear examination reported to be infectious mononucleosis in the day of the first visit.The medications were suspended, serological tests were requested for type I and II Herpes, EBV and CMV. It was started the use of Valaciclovir 500mg and laser photobiomodulation. Histopathological results concluded to be viral co-infection ulceration. The tests confirmed Herpes I, II and EBV infection. She was released from treatment 5 days after the first visit totally recovered.
