Resumo: This case report describes the removal of a mucocele in a 6-month-old infant using a high-power diode laser. The female patient was referred for evaluation of a slow-growing, asymptomatic nodular lesion on the lower lip, with fluctuant consistency and coloration similar to adjacent mucosa. The clinical hypothesis was mucocele, and excisional biopsy was planned. The procedure was performed under local anesthesia using a dual-wavelength superpulsed diode laser (810 nm + 980 nm) with an activated tip, set at 1.0 W in contact mode. The lesion was submitted for histopathological analysis. The diode laser enabled precise, clean excision with minimal bleeding and faster healing. No sutures were needed. The patient was able to breastfeed immediately after the procedure, and recovery was uneventful, with no complications. At the 30-day follow-up, no signs of recurrence were observed. Histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis. Diode laser proved a safe, effective option for pediatric dental practice
