Título: A possible oral contact stomatitis related to toothpaste use: a case report

Resumo: A 36-year-old female patient complaining of mouth ulcers and a history of lower lip swelling that going on for a month. Anamnesis revealed the use of pregabalin, desvelanflaxin and ozempic, after the oral lesions began. Was under investigation for lactose allergy, was soon ruled out. Intra-oral physical examination revealed small punctate ulcers on bilateral upper gingiva, ulcers and whitish plaques removable scraping on bilateral borders of the tongue and lower labial mucosa. A biopsy of the ulcerated lesions in gingiva was carried out and showed the presence of an inflammatory infiltrate juxtaposed to the oral epithelium, suggesting a diagnosis of lichenoid reaction. Asked about her toothpaste, reported that had recently switched to a toothpaste that has been causing similiar reaction in other patients. The toothpaste was changed and topical corticosteroids were prescribed, with clinical and symptomatic improvement the lesions. She has been under observation for three months without lesions.
