Resumo: Eruption cysts (ECs) are benign developmental cysts typically associated with tooth eruption in children. This report describes a case of EC in a 67-year-old female patient with a history of hematopoietic cell transplantation and recent orthodontic tooth movement. Clinical examination revealed a purple-colored, asymptomatic soft nodule in the posterior maxillary region. Imaging showed a well-defined radiolucent lesion associated with an impacted third molar. Aspiration yielded citrine-colored fluid, confirming the cystic nature. An excisional biopsy was performed, and histopathological analysis confirmed the diagnosis of EC. Although initial healing was satisfactory, the patient developed a postoperative complication due to self-administration of phytotherapeutic agents, resulting in a poorly formed clot. The site was managed with debridement and suturing. A 3-month follow-up showed successful healing and bone regeneration, with a minor mucosal fenestration managed conservatively with laser therapy. This case highlights a rare presentation of EC in the elderly, potentially triggered by orthodontic movement.
