Resumo: The present study aims to catalog and evaluate the prevalence of mesenchymal-origin lesions (MOL) in the State of Amazonas. This is a quantitative, cross-sectional, and retrospective study of patients diagnosed at a reference oral pathology service in Amazonas, assessing the prevalent lesions and outlining the epidemiological profile of the services user population according to their skin color, age, and sex. The total sample consisted of 2,930, of which 798 were MOL, and of these, 352 had missing epidemiological information in the histopathological examination request. The five most prevalent lesions were as follows: Inflammatory Fibrous Hyperplasia (n=170), Giant Cell Fibroma (n=80), Pyogenic Granuloma (n=68), Chronic Hyperplastic Gengivitis (n=38), and Fibroma (n=23). The patients were mostly female (n=490), melanoderm (n=202), and adults (n=537). Of the five most prevalent lesions, three were reactive lesions, directly indicating that the oral cavity is a region prone to mechanical trauma and infections. Meanwhile, Fibroma is a neoplasm, and Giant Cell Fibroma has an uncertain etiology. The higher utilization of the service by women is frequently noted in various studies, attributed to their greater attention to self-care. Funding: FAPEAM.
