Resumo: Ameloblastoma is a benign but locally aggressive odontogenic tumor that primarily affects the mandible and maxilla, accounting for approximately 10% of all tumors in this region. It originates from the residual epithelium of the dental germ, stratified squamous epithelium, or enamel organ epithelium. A 13-year-old patient presented with an expansive lesion involving the right mandibular body and angle, observed in a panoramic radiograph. An incisional biopsy and marsupialization of the lesion were performed during the same surgical procedure. Six months after marsupialization, effective bone formation was observed at the lesions periphery, along with thickening of the basal and lingual cortices. Under general anesthesia, the lesion was excised and a peripheral ostectomy was performed to treat the residual cavity. After a two-year postoperative follow-up, the patient shows no deficit of the ipsilateral inferior alveolar nerve, and significant bone neoformation is evident, resulting in both aesthetically pleasing and functionally adequate outcomes.
