Resumo: A 62-year-old male HIV-infected patient presented with oral and facial lesions twelve days after receiving his last dose of COVID-19. Extraoral examination showed disseminated vesicles strictly limited to the left side of the face, skin, and vermilion of the upper lip. Oroscopy revealed vesicles on the edentulous alveolar ridge and palate of erythematous coloration. The lesions were located on the left side of the oral cavity, respecting the midline. Herpes zoster was obtained based on the findings in the clinical examination. For the treatment of lesions, oral acyclovir 800mg was prescribed 5 times a day for two weeks. Routine complementary tests, performed during the use of the medication, showed an undetectable HIV viral load and a CD4 lymphocyte count of 478 cells/ml. One month after using acyclovir, only black spots on the left side of the face persisted, while the oral mucosa appeared healed entirely.
