Resumo: Chondromyxoid ectomesenchymal tumor is a rare benign neoplasm, usually located in the oral cavity. This report describes a case of a 52 years old female former smoker who presented with an asymptomatic nodular lesion on the palate, evolving over approximately eight years. The lesion exhibited a bluish color, a smooth surface, fibrous consistency, well-defined margins, and a pedunculated insertion, measuring about 2 cm. The chosen approach was surgical excision of the palatal lesion, followed by histopathological examination. The histological sections revealed mucosal fragments with mesenchymal cell proliferation in the lamina propria and submucosa, showing spindle or stellate morphology and differentiation into chondroblasts, sometimes forming cartilaginous tissue with areas of ossification. The cells are arranged in a lobular pattern, with occasional spindle cell whorls. Clusters of mature adipocytes and salivary gland lobules are also present. This report highlights the importance of detailed clinical evaluation and histopathological analysis for a definitive diagnosis, considering the rarity of this condition.
