Área Temática: Estomatologia

Resumo: 3D printing is a technology that enables the creation of models based on real pathologies, facilitating the analysis of lesion characteristics. In this study, a 48-year-old male patient presented with an expansive lesion in the left mandibular parasymphysis, diagnosed as an odontogenic keratocystic tumor following CT imaging and biopsy.
Cyst decompression was performed, with six months of clinical follow-up, followed by a new CT scan. 3D models of the lesion were produced using image processing software (Chitubox, 3D Slicer, Meshmixer) both before and after treatment. Analysis of these models revealed a reduction in the cystic cavity and bone gain at the lesion margins, highlighting the pathological anatomical evolution.
This approach not only enhanced understanding of the condition but also contributed to the planning of future surgical procedures.
