Título: ORAL CARCINOMA CUNICULATUM IN A PEDIATRIC PATIENT

Resumo: A 9-year-old male patient was referred for a diagnosis of a tumor with a rapid evolution. Extraoral examination revealed a swelling on the right side of the face. Intraoral examination revealed an 8-cm tumor in the mandibular alveolar ridge with an extension to the buccal mucosa on the right side with ulcerated surface and a reddish color surrounding the teeth. Radiographic exams revealed a mixed lesion in the posterior mandible with no cortical resorption. Histopathological examination showed proliferation of well-differentiated squamous epithelium forming papillary and cystic structures filled with keratin. The growth pattern was expansive and endophytic, with branched sinusoidal spaces. These features along with moderate cellular atypia and an invasive pattern, confirmed Carcinoma Cuniculatum. The patient was submitted for tumor resection with mandibulectomy and followed with free flap surgery reconstruction with bone graft. At 2 months-follow-up, the patient remains with no signs of recurrence and is under rehabilitation.
