Título: MELANOMA IN SITU OF THE ORAL CAVITY AFTER MELANOMA TREATMENT A CASE REPORT

Resumo: A 81 years old female patient was treated to an oral mucosal melanoma pT1N0M0 in 2023 with surgery exclusively. The first diagnosis comprised a malignant, invasive melanoma, removed with free surgical margins showing vertical growth Breslow of 8,8mm and ulceration. No microsatelites, neural and vascular invasion were detected. In addition, in 2025, she presented with a new pigmented blackened spot lesion with a smooth surface, undefined borders, without painful symptoms located in the lower right border region (close to the central region) with extension to the lower lip mucosa and anterior mouth floor. An incisional biopsy was performed and revealed junctional proliferation of atypical melanocytes with immunohistochemistry positive for S100, HMB45 and Melan-A stains, reaching the diagnosis compatible with melanoma in situ, surgical treatment is then performed. It is necessary a closely follow-up of the patients treated for oral mucosal melanoma in order to identify the recurrence early stages.
