Resumo: A cyst is a pathological cavity lined by epithelium, usually containing fluid or semisolid material. Several types of developmental cysts occur in the head and neck region. Among them, the nasopalatine duct cyst is usually asymptomatic and often detected only on routine radiographic examinations. This study aims to describe the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of a nasopalatine duct cyst through a case report. The PubMed, Elsevier, and Revista de Ciências Odontológicas databases were used to prepare this study. The conclusion was that the differential diagnosis includes the exclusion of other physical lesions, such as periapical and odontogenic cysts, which reinforces the importance of detailed radiographic examinations, such as cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), for the assessment of the extent of the lesion and treatment planning. These findings corroborate the relevance of an early diagnosis and an appropriate therapeutic approach for the effective resolution of the condition.
