Resumo: The present study aims to report the concordance between clinical hypothesis and histopathological diagnosis of mesenchymal lesions diagnosed in a reference Histopathological Service in the State of Amazonas and, beyond that, delineate an overview of clinical successes of the service's users community. It's a quantitative, cross-sectional and retrospective study of the diagnosed patients in the aforementioned service, through the issued reports in the decade 2012-2022. A sample of 621 reports was acquired, excluding 351 cases according to exclusion criteria (abstence of epidemiological information- gender, age, skin color), location of the lesion, diagnostic hypothesis and the referring institution, consequently including 270 cases. Among the included cases, reactive lesions represented the majority group (N= 152), followed by benign neoplasms (N=106), malignant neoplasms (N=8) and cystic lesions (N=4). Of the total included, there were 134 concordances and 136 misdiagnoses. The most frequently observed lesion was inflammatory fibrous hyperplasia (N=60), with diagnostic concordance achieved in 40 cases and diagnostic discrepancy noted in 20 cases. Furthermore, the highest rate of correct concordance was observed among public universities when compared to other institutions. Therefore, the study is expected to assess accuracy of academics and professionals in relation to Oral and Maxillofacial diagnosis. Funding: FAPEAM.
