Área Temática: Estomatologia

Resumo: A 44yo white male patient submitted to allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in 2020 for treatment to non-Hodgkin T-cell lymphoma IIA, was referred for evaluation due to the appearance of oral cavity lesions. On physical examination, multiple papular and nodular lesions were observed, either isolated or clustered, with a pinkish coloration, firm consistency, and irregular, rough surface, located on the alveolar ridge, gingiva, and tongue. Initially presenting as a single lesion in 2022, the condition progressed to multiple lesions in 2024. An incisional biopsy was performed, and the histopathological examination revealed a mucosal fragment exhibiting epithelial hyperplasia with focal parakeratosis and mild spongiosis. The lamina propria showed signs of vascular ectasia and a mild chronic inflammatory infiltrate. The morphological and clinical findings were consistent with focal epithelial hyperplasia. Clinical correlation with the morphological findings led to the diagnosis of Heck's disease. The patient remains under follow-up and asymptomatic.
