Resumo: Gingival cysts are rare developmental odontogenic cysts arising in attached gingiva or alveolar ridge mucoperiosteum of adults or infants. A 52-year-old male patient was referred to the oral medicine service with a painless sessile nodule located on the vestibular gingiva between teeth 41 and 42, persisting for more than a year. Clinical examination revealed no systemic diseases. Preoperative exams included CBC, INR and GL. Excisional biopsy was performed and the sample was sent for histopathological analysis based on the hypothesis of a gingival cyst of the adult. The analysis confirmed the diagnostic hypothesis, revealing a cystic cavity lined by simple cuboidal epithelium, with loosely arranged underlying connective tissue, collagenized. The excisional biopsy served as the treatment for this condition. After three weeks, tissue formation and complete clinical recovery were achieved.
