Resumo: Objective: To assess the prevalence of lip and perioral alterations in rural workers exposed to sunlight in Patos-PB. Study Design: A total of 202 evaluations were conducted. Participants, aged over 18, of both genders, exposed to sunlight, signed an Informed Consent Form (ICF) and underwent visual assessment. Independent variables included age, sex, ethnicity, smoking, alcohol use, sun exposure, occupational photoprotection, and last dental visit. Results: The average age was 52.7 years; most participants were male (58.2%), white (65.7%), non-smokers (90.5%), non-drinkers (94%), sun-exposed (92%), and had worked for over 121 months (85.1%). 62.2% had a dental visit within the past year. Most did not use lip sunscreen (89.6%) or body sunscreen (77.6%), but wore hats (66.2%). 52.2% had some lip alteration, most commonly lip dryness (37.3%). Factors associated with oral alterations included sun exposure, workdays, working hours, and lack of photoprotection. Conclusion: Educational initiatives are needed to promote preventive measures for this vulnerable population.
