Resumo: The Squamous Odontogenic Tumor is a benign odontogenic tumor with squamous differentiation, typically presenting intraosseous location, with rare extraosseous occurrences. This study aims to report the case of a 55-year-old female patient whose lesion was detected by a clinician during a routine examination. Intraoral examination revealed a papule lesion on the attached gingiva between the right mandibular premolars, appearing whitish and painless. Radiographic examination showed no pulp involvement of the mentioned teeth. During the excisional biopsy procedure, cup-shaped bone resorption beneath the lesion was noted, and the specimen was sent for histopathological analysis with a diagnostic hypothesis of Giant Cell Fibroma. Histological sections displayed islands of squamous epithelium within the connective tissue, with peripheral flattened cells and central areas sometimes exhibiting microcystic degeneration and individual cell keratinization, stablishing the diagnosis of Peripheral Squamous Odontogenic Tumor. The patient remains under follow-up with no signs of recurrence.
