Resumo: A 21-year-old male patient diagnosed with dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (EB) was referred to dental treatment at a hospital dentistry service. The patients medical history included chronic anemia under treatment with iron repositioning and several treatments for EB. Intraoral examination revealed cicatricial fibrosis in the right and left buccal mucosa, along with the presence of ulcers, and ankyloglossia. A history of previous surgical treatments for the esophagus enlargement allowed the patient to maintain oral food intake. The patient also revealed severe periodontitis, gingivitis, and multiple cavities. The patient followed for teeth extraction under general anesthesia. Due to difficulties with intubation and a risk of bleeding during the surgery, the extractions were performed in two moments. The surgeries were completed without complications and the patient was referred to dental implant installation. At the follow-up, the patient is under prosthesis rehabilitation with no signs of problems with implant osteointegration.
