Resumo: The odontogenic fibromyxoma is a rare benign tumor of the jaws, characterized by slow and painless growth, more commonly affecting the mandible and potentially causing bone expansion. We report the case of a 42-year-old male patient presenting with a palatal swelling that hindered eating. The patient had undergone lesion removal two years earlier; however, a recurrence was observed. He had a history of leprosy, which had been treated for three years.Clinical examination revealed a nodule in the upper posterior gingiva covering tooth 26, measuring approximately 2 cm. Initial diagnostic hypotheses included a giant cell lesion and a pyogenic granuloma. The patient underwent excisional biopsy under general anesthesia, along with associated tooth extractions. Histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of odontogenic fibromyxoma. This case highlights the importance of differential diagnosis, complete surgical excision, and continuous clinical and radiographic follow-up to prevent recurrences, given the lesions potential for recurrence.
