Resumo: An allergic reaction is an exaggerated immune response to an otherwise harmless substance such as pollen, food, or chemicals. Clinical manifestations can range from mild symptoms, such as itching and redness, to more severe reactions, including swelling, respiratory distress, or anaphylactic shock. We report the case of a 64-year-old woman who presented with a complaint of a burning sensation in the lower lip. Clinical examination revealed erythema on the vermilion border of the lower lip, an extensive erythematous area on the lower labial mucosa, and an ulcer on the left lateral border of the tongue. The patient had previously been diagnosed with oral candidiasis and had been treated with nystatin, followed by topic corticoid. She denied alcohol and tobacco use and reported regular use of a specific toothpaste (Colgate Total 12®). Upon discontinuation of this toothpaste, the lesions regressed completely. The patient remains under regular follow-up, showing no recurrence.
