Resumo: Hamartomas are benign malformations consisting of the proliferation of endogenous tissues at the site of origin of the lesion. A female patient, a newborn, was referred for dental care after evaluation at the maternity hospital where she was born. The patient presented with two pedunculated nodular lesions on the dorsal surface of the tongue that followed the midline, with a color similar to the mucosa, firm consistency, and smooth surface, each measuring about 8mm. They had been present since birth and were interfering with adequate breastfeeding. Excisional biopsies were performed under local anesthesia, and samples were sent for microscopic examination. Histopathological analysis and immunohistochemical staining revealed mucosa covered by atrophic stratified squamous keratinized epithelium, dense connective tissue with smooth muscle and nerve bundles, as well as the presence of blood vessels. The diagnosis was leiomyomatous hamartomas. The patient was monitored in the following months and showed no signs of recurrence.
