Título: PERIPHERAL OSSIFYING FIBROMA IN THE MAXILLA: CASE REPORT

Resumo: This is a report of a 54-year-old male patient with no comorbidities who came to stomatologist with throbbing pain in his gum for 5 years. An intraoral physical examination revealed poor oral health, with caries, bacterial plaque and periodontal disease. He had a tumor lesion, sometimes reddish, sometimes normochromic, bleeding to the touch, well delimited, located in the buccal and palatal maxilla involving the upper incisors to the first premolar, on the right side. Periapical and panoramic radiographs showed only cupped resorption of the bone crests between the teeth involved. An excisional biopsy of the lesion was carried out with intraoperative periodontal therapy. Microscopy showed fibroblast proliferation associated with the formation of mineralized material, compatible with peripheral ossifying fibroma. The patients oral health was readjusted and there was no recurrence of the lesion after one year.
