Resumo: Objective: This case report aims to present the teams experience in establishing a Hospital Dentistry service and to describe clinical cases in which a preventive protocol for oral complications was used in children diagnosed with hematologic neoplasms. Case Reports: Nine patients receiving high-dose methotrexate (≥1 g/m²) were treated in 2024. A protocol consisting of three sessions of photobiomodulation using a combination of two diode laser wavelengths (660 and 808 nm; 100 mW, 0.028 cm², 1 J, 10 s/point) was initiated 24 hours after infusion, with 24-hour intervals between sessions. Proper oral hygiene and oral hydration twice daily were also prescribed. Results: No patient developed oral mucositis or experienced adverse reactions. Conclusion: The applied protocol demonstrated clinical evidence supporting its use in the prevention of oral complications related to antineoplastic therapy in children.
