Área Temática: Estomatologia

Resumo: Objective: To evaluate and synthetized the difference in the density of Langerhans cells (LC) (CD1a+ and CD207+) among patients with OPMDs (oral leukoplakia [OL], oral lichenoid lesion [OLL], oral lichen planus [OLP], oral submucous fibrosis [OSMF], and actinic cheilitis [AC]), oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and lip squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC). Study Design: Systematic review and network meta-analysis. Results: The quantification of CD1a+ and CD207+ LC in OSCC was higher in low-grade OSCC when compared to well- differentiated OSCC. A higher density of CD1a+ and CD207+ LC was observed in OLP lesions when compared to all other groups. For LO and OSCC lesions, a significant reduction in LCs was noted when compared to other OPMDs. There was a significant reduction in CD1a+ in OSCC compared to the AC group. In general, most of the comparison with CD207+ LC was considered with high confidence rate while comparisons with CD1a+ LC were considered with moderate confidence rate. Conclusion: The difference in the densities of CD1a+ LCs and CD207+ LCs between DPMOs, OSCC and LSCC may help in the immunopathogenesis and identification of these conditions, furthermore, the reduction of LCs (CD1a+ and CD207+) can play an important role in OSCC and LSCC.
