Resumo: A 2-years old male pediatric patient was diagnosed with grade II ependymoma. He underwent surgery with partial resection and radiotherapy treatment. During the extraoral examination, hemifacial paralysis and a bell sign upon blinking were observed in the patient. During the intra-oral clinical examination, several changes were noted, including active caries disease with lesions in quadrants 1 and 4. The multidisciplinary approach involves dentistry, physiotherapy, and speech therapy teams. As a form of treatment for facial paralysis, photobiomodulation with low-power laser and hemiface bandage has shown good results, with partial recovery of movements. Interestingly, quadrants 2 and 3 do not exhibit caries lesions. This fact is associated with a neuromotor deficit. The multidisciplinary treatment has also included dental support through supervised brushing, topical fluoride application, and restorations. This report aims to highlight the impacts of pediatric cancer and underscore the importance of a multidisciplinary team for patients' quality of life.
