Resumo: Gorlin-Goltz Syndrome (GGS), also known as basal cell nevus syndrome (BCNS) is an autosomal dominant disease with a high penetrance level and variable expressivity. It is mainly characterized by odontogenic keratocysts (OKs), multiple basal cell carcinomas, and skeletal abnormalities. This syndrome can be diagnosed early by the dentist through radiographic examinations since OKs are usually one of the first manifestations of the syndrome. This work presents a clinical case of a patient with multiple OCs and GGS, diagnosed through incidental findings after recurrent submental abscess. After dermatological and neurological evaluation, the patient presented skin lesions in addition to oral manifestations, diagnosed as basal cell carcinomas (BCCs). The magnetic resonance imaging of the skull showed brain lesions characteristic of GGS. This work highlights the importance of knowledge about clinical information and patient history, which can help in the multidisciplinary preventive approach to providing a better prognosis for the patient.
