Resumo: Medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) is frequently observed in patients undergoing antiresorptive drug therapy, but its occurrence with only vascular growth factor inhibitors is uncommon.A 67-year-old female leucoderma patient undergoing oncological treatment for Glioblastoma with bevacizumab presented for evaluation due to oral pain and odor. Clinical examination revealed extensive MRONJ in the mandible from teeth 36 to 46. After clinical diagnosis, the oncologist interrupted medication therapy, imaging studies were requested, and debridement surgery of the necrotic bone and extraction of the affected teeth were performed under general anesthesia after 60 days of medication suspension. After 15 days, all symptoms had disappeared, absence of inflammatory signs or bone exposure lead us now to 6 months follow-up without any symptoms. This case report demonstrates that patients receiving vascular growth factor inhibitors are at risk for MRONJ, and that transdisciplinary approaches aimed at preventing and effectively treating the pathology are essential.
