Resumo: Varices are post-thrombotic, dilated, tortuous veins. Despite being innocuous, treatment might be indicated for aesthetic purposes. Case 1: a 59-year-old male with a 3-year evolution purple papule on his right lower lip. Case 2: a 75-year-old female with two 2-year evolution purple nodules, one on the right lower lip and the other on the left upper lip. Diascopy test confirmed the vascular nature of the lesions and both patients underwent the same single-session photocoagulation protocol employing a high-intensity, infrared (808nm), continuous-wave, 2W diode laser (TWSurgical-MMOT). A non-contact technique was performed with quick circular movements until the lesions appeared ischemic. Complications were none and upon return the two patients reported only mild, controlled pain, without bleeding. Four moments of the treatment were photographically registered: before and immediately after the photocoagulation procedure and in 7-day and 21-day follow-up consultations, showing the lesions have completely regressed. Patients reported high levels of satisfaction.
