Resumo: Neste curso o Prof. Ali irá realizar a discussão de casos desafiadores da rotina. Os casos serão disponibilizados anteriormente para que os participantes possam avaliá-los e mandarem suas sugestões de diagnóstico e conduta que serão compiladas e discutidas no evento.
Mini CV: Senior Clinical Lecturer and Consultant Pathologist. Dr Ali Khurram is a Senior Clinical Lecturer and Consultant Pathologist at the University of Sheffield, UK. In addition to a Masters from the University of London and PhD from the University of Sheffield (both in the discipline of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology), he also has significant clinical experience in Oral Medicine and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. His postdoctoral training was funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), UK as a part of which he also trained as a Diagnostic Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologist. Following the successful completion of FRCPath in 2016, he was appointed as a Senior Clinical Lecturer and Consultant Pathologist at the School of Clinical Dentistry, University of Sheffield. He has a number of local, regional and national Clinical and Educational roles including: Lead for undergraduate BDS Pathology Teaching. Lead for Oral Disease Module (4th and 5th BDS) including Oral Pathology, Medicine, Radiology and Surgery.Clinical lead for the Sheffield Diagnostic Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Service. Educational supervision of core and specialist oral pathology trainees. Key member of the British Society for Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology (BSOMP) council including roles of Secretary and Webmaster. Member of IAOP 2020-2021 Organizing Committee and Webmaster.Furthermore, he is heavily involved in research and is particularly interested in salivary gland pathobiology and role of the tumour microenvironment in oral cancer metastasis and bone Invasion. Over the last few years, he has been actively involved in investigating the use of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, exploring their role in diagnosis and prediction of prognosis.
